How long can you stay on Itraconizole, for Invasive Aspergillosis without a break and how long must the break be even when the bloods are ok

From what I understand it is possible to stay on itraconazole for years as long as you are tolerating it well and symptoms stay under control. Regular monitoring is usual especially in the first 6 months.

There are circumstances when for some infections a break is used - all drugs have side effects and if we can stop taking a drug with no worsening then it can be a good thing. I would guess that a doctor would be guided by the blood tests and your reporting of symptoms as to how long is appropriate.
