Has anybody experienced removal of kidney because of cancer and how long did it take to recover

Thanks for reply I will check that out.

My dad had a kidney removed at the beginning of November due to cancer. He had it done Tuesday, home Saturday. They anticipated an earlier discharge but there were problems with the catheter. He had to take it easy for a while, I'd say about 6 weeks but in the new year he started to take walks, building up to 8-10 miles a day. He's a painter and decorator and started to work again about March. (Part time, he's semi retired in his 70s) I'd say by end of January you wouldn't have guessed he'd had surgery.

Thanks for your reply it’s such a shock to have this op but good to hear about others recovery I will pass this on to my hubby.
