Omeprazol?
Omeprazol is reducing your gastric acid, thus allowing an increased colonization in the small intestine. This is a bad thing.
Reflux is probably caused by gut dysbiosis and omeprazol is worsening it.
My non medical advice is that you should address the dysbiosis, and treat it with a change in the diet and with probiotics.
My doc suggested "nausil plus" for reflux while I waited for probiotics to start working (my road is very long, two years to go back to a functional human, and I'm still not completely healed - not sure if I ever will be).
Be __very__ cautious with protonic pump inhibitors, FANS and, obviously, antibiotics.
Good luck!
Omniprazole will help refux but suppresses natural stomach acid which means food is not digested properly and nutrients not absorbed according to Dr Myhill in her mitochondria not hypocondria book. You need to find out what's causing the reflux and cut it out rather than treating the symptom, long term this will do more harm. I was taking Lansporazole (also suppresses stomach acid) & Napoxen but have weaned myself off. With this illness our bodies are producing inflammation to fight a perceived infection so our diet needs to be anti inflammatory in order to heal. That means no sugar, caffeine, alcohol, dairy or gluten. Paleo diet is recommended, I haven't got that far yet but I gave up gluten recently and noticed a huge difference. Sugar made a huge difference to my pain too. I ate something my body didn't like 4 days ago & am still suffering neuropathy. Getting tested for intolerances is a must not the body is struggling and sees many food and chemicals as a threat.
Hope that helps in some way
