Yes, I get that. My eye doctor said it's alternating exotropia, which is where the eyes are moving side to side really quickly. Didn't say what to do about it though...

Hi Van, would slow eye exercises (when not experiencing rapid eye movements) help train the eyes in any way? Or any grounding techniques.

I get that as well. I got it worse last summer and this summer it's back again.

can you explain further please as in is it permanent or does it come and go, is it worse when you are tired or ill etc

I have visual disturbances but I wouldn’t have put it on FND. I saw the optician and she made me glasses with a tint to resolve things when this happens. I also have ocular dystonia in my right eye but I can resolve this by squeezing my eyes shut. This is why I am asking other questions about your eyes. Have you been diagnosed as FND in the eyes?

Hi, this comes and goes. Just blurry and cloudy now and again. I have so many unexplained issues dr doesnt know the answers, either fibro or fnd , i have chronic migraines as well. I cannot tolerate medications due to multiple chemical sensitivity.

I have the same problem with meds, have you spoken to your optician because you may find them more helpful than the neurologist I certainly did. I went to buy carpet after I had the painter in and basically as I moved through the aisle of carpets each one turned white so it effectively looked like snow blindness. I asked the assistant for some help and he was really good because I didn’t want to tell him that I couldn’t for the moment see colours. I chose and paid for the carpet and essentially had three days to wait to see what I had bought which thankfully turned out to be really nice. The glasses made for me now would stop a repeat of what happened because I also couldn’t handle certain colours on the walls it made me seasick. Now having had the full works carried out by the optician she was able to identify that I have two of the six muscles used to move the eye around on the right side were damaged or not working properly. I was also able to have identified a very tiny tear in the retina and have been told if I get any new symptoms I am to be seen straight away at the optician. I was taken to the hospital from the optician the first time I went in an ambulance to have scans etc to make sure all was fine from the brain and was treated for dystonia in the eye. I was then followed up at the hospital eye specialist.

The bottom line is that in my experience I would never get this level of assessment from a neurologist clinic. I now understand what is happening on a bad day and can deal with it much easier

Yes! I had them checked as well. My OT told me to blink my eyes for a minute or two. And often that brings my vision back to normal.
