Anyone noticed a worsening of FND symptoms on the Perimenopause?

Hi everyone,My Wife has had FND since 2011,

she's come a long way, from being in a wheelchair, then wearing two leg braces and having a few appointments with

a Neurophysiotherapist a few years ago.

She still has issues, but she's been about 7 months into the Perimenopause.

She's now 46.

She won't take HRT, but has been taking Evening Primrose Oil for the past 4 months, with added Starflower, which has helped her moods during the Perimenopause.

However, during the last 2 weeks, her FND symptoms have worsened and her right leg has been suddenly having the drop attacks again and she's been feeling dizzy.

My questions to you ladies is this:

Has your symptoms worsened during the Perimenopause and have they eased up

over time?

Do any of you take Evening Primrose Oil with Starflower whilst taking Baclofen and has your symptoms worsened?

Kim takes 1000mg morning and night.

I'm just wandering if the Primrose Oil is interacting with the Baclofen or is it

the Perimenopause.

Our GP doesn't feel it's the Primrose.

I understand FND can worsen during

hormonal changes.

My deepest appreciation to you all.

Warmest wishes!

Tony

Hi Tony

I am sorry your wife's symptoms have worsened and I wish I could give you more advice.

My son's symptoms started when he was 15 yrs old so I can see how hormones can play a part but so does stress and anxiety. He also experienced a lot of drop attacks, where after the initial A&E visits, I just helped him to back into bed and as he tended to bump his head and knock himself out, attended to the injuries and gave pain relief if necessary. Now the furniture has been re-arranged to prevent serious injury.

Does the Perimenopause stage involve high body temperatures, and does she tend to have her drop attacks more first thing?

Hopefully others can help re your treatment questions
