Hi and help!

Hi,

I was diagnosed with FND last month, on the basis of a 5 minute conversation about my symptoms, and a rudimentary neurological investigation. I have a complicated medical history including a childhood diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Hypothyroidism (which developed at exactly the same time these symptoms developed.

My symptoms include:

Internal Tremor: Feels like it is from my neck or back, inconstant.

No concentation.

Agitation.

Lack of inhibition control.

Panic attacks.

Fear over motions, like looking one way with my eye and then moving my neck at the same time, which I know is insane and completely irrational worry.

Movement rigidity, slowed motion, problems initiating movement.

Pain in muscles, especially feet muscles.

Near constant anxiety about everything.

Other OCD like symptoms.

Things that resemble motor tics, but not entirely involuntary.

Massive health anxiety.

Changes in taste.

Lots of twitching, recently including eyelid.

Sleep difficulties.

The Neurologist didn't offer a follow up, apart from an Private MRI to confirm his suspiscion that there is no underlying pathology. I have no idea if his diagnosis is correct, if my symptoms fit within the range of the typical, the relevance of my comordities, treatments, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hi ErraticAspie Have you ever had a concussion or blunt force trauma to the head? Or have you ever been in an accident where your neck or head were involved? Whiplash?

Breathe, your not alone and welcome.

FND should be diagnosed with rule in tests only, not based on a 5 minute conversation, was that with a Neurologist? Who did the assessment?.

From recollection my son's appt with a Neurologist was an hour.

You have listed a lot of symptoms, which is the one that causes the most anxiety?

Also have you got an official OCD diagnosis?

Not what you're looking for?
