I have always thought these sensations are the results of a hypersensitive nervous system, which personally I have never managed to calm down enough with the usual breathing techniques and yoga, to change. I do find that warmth from a h w bottle helps, and myofascial release treatment. Tight fascia (which includes nerve endings) can be released with heat or compression, acc to my therapist. Hope that helps .. I am no medic.

Could well be a vitamin B12 deficiency, assuming that it isn't a blood sugar/diabetes issue or alcohol or thyroid or low vitamin D. Unfortunately although there are tests to rule in a B12 deficiency or metabolism issue there are no tests to rule one out for certain and taking oral B12 will thoroughly mess up your chances of getting it diagnosed without necessarily resolving the neuropathy. Hopefully you have had serum b12 and serum folate tested and a full blood count, so have a look at the results or ask for testing if not done, then post again with results. There are other tests which may be useful if these don't show a problem but not usually done by a GP. In the meantime you could try magnesium which often helps. Start low, take it gently, an oil spray on the skin worked best for me. Cheers
