Hi ..Do you get relapses with FND as with MS that get better over time and is there inflammation involved? I'm currently awaiting diagnosis and it's all pointing to Ms. I just had an attack which started like the worst flu ever and burning back pain and headache and stiff neck then all the unpleasant Neuro symptoms followed, unable to walk some days, spasms, Ms hug round my ribs, nausea and an awful feeling in my spine in a morning. Symptoms are easing off slowly but are very unpredictable in nature..does this sound familiar as FND?
Thanks in Advance

Hi , yes this is exactly how I am , with fatigue too , it gets easier for a while but never completely goes away , I had a fall last night , got up out of chair n took 2steps n my left foot n toes went numb , felt like end of foot was rubber n caused me to fall , it’s back now but doesnt feel same as other foot , all I get told is FND 🤨
Hi, do you have numbness, tingling and spascisity in your leg or back and do your muscles cramp up. Also do your symptoms get worse after you have been exposed to heat as in a hot bath or shower? Sorry for all the questions. If I put my feet together whilst standing raise my arms Infront of me then close my eyes I stumble and fall to the affected side. This is how they used to diagnose neuro conditions many years ago
Hi , I do get pins n needles in my feet n one arm , heat does make it worse in hot weather , most of my weakness is on left side , but it all started on my right side two years ago , my left side of face is slightly swollen too , breathless n dizzy when I’m doing housework slowly around house , can’t walk very far either .
Exactly this! My symptoms started mild and would come and go. Over the past 7 years I’ve gained more symptoms with more frequency. I rarely have a day where I feel ok, these days. Sorry you’re dealing with it too.
I have FND now for 4 years and unfortunately you can suffer a relapse - I was doing well until I had a miserable fall and then the symptoms returned I have since learned that a plan in the event of relapse is a good idea. If you are seeing any sort of health professional they can help you develop a plan for relapse. I am sorry that you are going through this challenging time - hopefully it will not last. Stay positive.
Thanks for your reply. My first attack happened 18 months ago 3 days after covid vax I somewhat recovered but several weeks ago I could feel my symptoms worsening until BAM! Another attack. I'm off work now and having to claim universal credit and SSP which is not enough to pay my bills. Do you think I would be eligible to disability payments?
