Hi all I said I'd update on how my day out went ok so I said sod the pain and went bowling with the wife and kids all was good after first game but felt the pain on the second think I pushed myself a bit to far paid for it over the next 3 or 4 days. Weakness and spasms me re and more regularly hard to know if it was the right thing to do but felt good at the time. Hope you're all as well as can be.

On another note got to wait till September to see my neurologist doctor's finally passed me back to the hospital as they don't want to do another MRI or any sort of tests even tho have new pain in other areas. Feel like I'm maxing out on the tablets that I'm on again and am worried about what's next as they keep telling me there running out of options. Currently on 600mg of pregabalin have maxed out on Tramadol and gabapentin in the past so sounds like anti depressants next although I have had history of psychosis don't know if personally it's the right route to go any suggestions would be grateful.

Diagnosis of fnd of 7 years, spondylosis of the spine,

And hypermobility syndrome

Symptoms

Balance problems, swelling of the feet and ankles, lower back pain, hip pain, back spasms.

Most recent symptoms are, pain in fingers, neck pain, burning sensation down the spine, heel pain . Weight gain but guess is a side effect to tablets

All keep well and if anyone wants a chat just message me.

Hi Terry, think you did the right thing going bowling, even though a huge fallout of pain - to mentally be happy is as important as to be in good health.

Not sure if this will help at all? Few years back there was a documentary of `Doctor In The House' (Channel 4- I think?) which was about a GP who went around staying with different Patients with different conditions who could not get their health under control and usual GP / Hospital consults had failed them- badly!

This TV GP usually looked at their medications, lifestyle, took a base level and then advised or ordered more diagnostic tests - all these things took into account the individual, their family, working and did all the things that the NHS should do if they put the time into investigations properly...

Anyhow, there was one program in the series about a guy with a severe back pain issue, it was affecting his life so badly he was maxing out on all this medications (even without his GP knowing etc). This TV GP started changing his medication regime to lower it gradually to stop it being dangerous & having organ problems long term etc

Then sent him to a Muscular Skeletal Physio who assessed him and built an exercise routine to even out his movement/posture and general fitness - as this guy had been walking unbalanced for years. This Specialist Physio also discovered that this guy's main trigger for the back problem was having a broken jaw when he was beaten up as a teenager, so there were residual physical and mental issues there too.

Long story shorter - by doing these individually tailored exercises, reducing his medications and seeing a therapist this guy got back on track and so did his family.

Sometimes medications can cause more side effects and encourage issues rather than solve them and without specific tailored exercise this guy would not have even approached a more normal sustainable lifestyle.

Do not get me wrong, he still had physical back/neck/shoulder and leg problems and could not come off all painkillers, but generally was at a better healthier level of living his life and could work at his desk without dread!

We only have one life and that is usually less than 100 years - so being happy is important!

Look for the calm in the Storm!

Hello there,Glad that you had some joy at the bowling day-we have to keep on trying to do things that challenge us.

Reading this very quick as have to get some dinner I managed to cook-

Can relate to all of your pains as I have similar, and am on pregabalin 600gms, but have heard that tramadol is bad?

Sounds like the pills are working except yo need to tell doc about each and every pain you have so as they can work on one by one-if you know what I mean.

Have pregabalin and escitalopram 15gm a day, I feel ok but am suffering the aches and pains that you mentioned.

But feel that it would be a good idea to challenge each pain one by one,

keep going and know that I and many others are here for you X
