Yes, its one of my symptoms I find hardest to live with. I've always had hyper sensitive hearing, so I'm used to having to move away from noises etc but not being able to escape the tinnitus drives me insane. Mine waxes and wanes (although never disappears), currently I have three different pitches in my right ear. If anyone knows of anything that helps I would love to know.

Sorry I don't have anything helpful to add but you are not alone.

Yes, I have this too. I was given tests, and they concluded that, much like my other symptoms, it is caused by my nerves and brain not communicating properly. The only advice I was offered was to distract myself by listening to something else. I find it particularly frustrating at night, and have to listen to something to get to sleep.

I have heard of people having success with white noise, but it agravates my permanent migraine - the joys of FND 😂

Good luck, hope you find something that helps 🤞

Thanks WildCherry and Skygirl. It really is driving me insane...also have the Tonal Version going on in one Ear too.

I find having BBC 6Music on constantly helps....but during the Silence of Night....it's disturbing.

I don't have FND but I did get tinnitus after an un-necessary MRI scan. I got no help from my (then) primary care team but fortunately I stumbled upon white and pink noise which helped get rid of it for me (lucky me, I know, cos it isn't always easy to shift). I also found listening to binaural beats helped, both with cancelling out the tinnitus and with getting good rest. I'm hoping that the team who think they may have found a treatment for tinnitus (they were researching motion sickness at the time, if you google 'we 'may' have found a treatment for tinnitus, by accident' you'll see what I mean) will be able to get funding for their research into this horrible condition.
