Hi all,

I’m really struggling with symptoms. I’m unable to open my mouth, chew, talk, walk, transfer on my own, have lost the use of my arms and have major coughing fits. Has anyone tried the Neuropsychiatric program at UBC(Vancouver)? I feel like it’s my last option.

Hi, I have just finished 5 months of physical therapy by FND/neuro physiotherapists/hydrotherapy/gym at a hospital rehab program as well as neuropsychology from an FND expert. Before that I could barely talk or walk and had daily continuous fits. I was wracked with multi focal dystonia. I can now walk 2 km with a stick, haven’t had a fit in over a month and have one bit of mild dystonia every few days. Rehab has changed the world for me even though I am still tired, talk with a lisp often and would like to walk further. I say try it! You have nothing to lose!
