Today I suffered the most severe jerking of my arms and body and some jerking of my legs which started when I was actually asleep and was so severe it woke me up and my wife was wanting to call an ambulance as she said I didn’t love k well at all.
After the jerking was finished I felt totally worn out and didn’t have the energy to do anything took about 2 hours to start feeling a bit like myself.
I have had some arm leg jerking before but never to this degree, suppose I better keep a eye out and see if it is going to become a regular occurrence, if it does become regular is there any drugs out there that people can recommend and which can control the jerks.
I have severe lower back pain fusion at L5 and disc decomposition and trim at L4 and the jeers today left me in agony.
Regards

Have you been over doing things? I know it's always so tempting. Also look out for things that may be making you ill in general. Flu, infections etc. I've been worse recently myself and was wondering what I did to displease the FND gods and it turned out to be boils in my armpit (sorry TMI). It really doesn't take much.
Do you take any of the supplements on the FND website? Sometimes if you are having gut issues it may have just tipped you over the edge. Even simple constipation is enough to set epileptics off.
If you are worried about your symptoms then maybe get in contact with your neurologist. I know we shouldn't get symptoms in our sleep. So perhaps that's worth reporting and grounds for a review.
Just slept 23 hours out of 24 and still feel exhausted. I have had extreme pains from my stomach today and one reason why I woke up today was severe stomach cramps.
I have had some jerking in the passed but never as severe as this was and as I was asleep when it started I didn’t even know I was doing it and when wife tried talking to me I felt only partly there.
Today when I woke up I had problems getting both arms working as I felt a total disconnect from them one came back a little other one also a little bit.
I’ve had frozen left shoulder before and the jerking has left shoulder in a lot pain today.
Hopefully weekend will be a bit better fingers crossed.
Hi. Sorry but you could now have developed non-epileptic seizures. I take them daily and during them I have occasions of severe shaking, my back arching till I feel like it’s going to break. On occasions when the seizures have finished I am left paralysed such that I need to use a wheelchair. And I’m knackered. I’m desperately in need of chocolate to such an extent that I asked my Consultant Neurologist whether I should be tested for diabetes (not that I display any of the usual symptoms). My Consultant said not to bother- it was the amount of energy expended by my body during the seizure that gave me the cravings.
Medication wise for seizures: none.
Sorry to not have something positive to say but it may just be a blip and not reoccur Worth getting your Neurologists view.
Yes certainly rest up. Long term rest and being super careful with pacing has made the most impact for me. Well that and realising I was B6 deficient on top of my B12 and D deficiencies. I had to give up going out and now only get out about once a month. It doesn't take much to loose progress though.
I have had jerking in my legs in my sleep. DAT scan thankfully negative. I used to wake up feeling that I'd run miles. I'd have aching thighs and feel rather wobbly. I only occasionally get it now, thankfully. With me I think was partly down to the B6 as it soon put paid to the falling, tripping and the wobbly legs. You are not supposed to get a B6 deficiency as it's in everything, but gut issues, thyroid antibodies and B12 deficiency tend to put me at a more at risk. I suffer from migraine without headache too which can be quite dramatic. My body is a drama queen
Well rest up, and hopefully nip the blighters in the bud.
