You need to get and do whatever is BEST for YOU. Please don’t put the thoughts of others in first place. YOU are the important one. I do understand as I tend to give the thoughts more importance than I should.

I'm an electric wheelchair user with FND. I love my chair - it gives me the freedom to get on with life - a manual would exhaust me. Try not to worry what other's think - their problme not yours - and get the tools that work for you. Many hugs and sympathies - I know the stares can be wearing.

I have a Invacare TDX NB chair from the NHS - but postcode lottery will impact on what your OT is able to get access to. But can strongly recommend the 6 wheelers - power to the middle wheel, the rest are stabilisers - makes for a very manoeuvrable chair. Good luck with it all.

Definitely use whatever makes you comfortable, sod what people think, i in the same boat where my manual is starting to get too much. Others aren't suffering you are so ignor them and enjoy the beauty of electric, I can't wait to get one
