Asking for help...

I have never been good with asking for help but now I live on my own there is a lot I can't do around the house. I'm too scared to ask my friends and family for help because they do enough for me but I'm really struggling now it's getting me down and I really don't know what to do. Any advice would be really helpful

You might need to talk to your doctor to see if you can get someone in from home care if they have it where you are 😇🙏👼don't be afraid to ask for help honey if we don't ask how else can we get help

Ask your doctor at the same time about being referred to the re-enablement and re-habilitation services. My experience of them is that they can support you with not only with OT and physio, but can refer you themselves to other services that can provide you with additional support. My experience of the re-hab service was extremely positive.

Hi Nicky!

So sorry to hear that you're on your own and feeling down.

Get somebody in to do an assessment for you and if you contact the Citizens Advice Bureau they will point you in the right direction.

It's a long process as I've had to do it for my wife but you're entitled to everything that helps you.

If you need any help let me know and I'll try my best to help.

Best Wishes!

Tony & Kim 😉

Yes certainly ask for help I have carers 3 times a day 7 days a week as I was unable to do my care and house chores and I am glad that I got the help and support but I'm autistic adhd and learning disabilities and I found it really difficult to ask for help but it was the group I was in supporting me that got me the help and support and I am with a good caring company too they are really brilliant with me. Its been really difficult to ask for help when I needed more help so my carers manager because I have a learning disability social worker the care company manager ask for extra hours for me as well as extra days

You can do it or if you feel anxious about asking for help it's good to ask your Doctor they can refer you and then they will do assessment at your home.
