I felt guilty when I had the FND diagnosis, yes. The huge "psychological" stigma around FND makes patients feel like they have destroyed their own and loved ones' lives with their own hands. The lack of inderstanding that the symptoms are real from the medical professionals brings its contibution, either. Feeling guilty is awful. However, there is absolutely nothing to feel guilty about, FND is an illness, not a crime.

Well they put me on a lot of medication at my own hand even though they were the first ones to put me on muscle relaxants. Now I am off them I am feeling better but guilt of feeling like I was using the system and now I am in a supportive housing unit (1 month) from long term care (2 years) and I have huge anxiety and guilt.

same here I kept saying it was my CP and finally they took me off the medication and I am almost better. The one thing is the psychiatrists could never get throught that I was in denial. They are the specialist.
