Hi. I have asthma, high cholesterol, anxiety, FND. The asthma is probably not related, the cholesterol is most probably either diet or weight related, but anxiety is definitely related to FND. The mechanism inside the body that FND seems to use to produce symptoms is most probably the Flight, Fight, Freeze reflex, i.e. the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), and when that gets overloaded, you get all the symptoms of anxiety, i.e. faster pulse rate, breathing faster and shallower etc, as well as a body that doesn't work the way you tell it to.

My ANS is being constantly irritated by bone spurs in my spine, which sets it off 24/7, so I'm taking Clonidine and Physiotens alternating, 5 times a day to keep it under control. My dysautonomia is probably a bit extreme, and is different to most other people's, but these meds stopped me from crying most of the time, 7 days a week.

You can get a lot more info from fndhope.org and neurosymptoms.org and by joining a Facebook group such as the one listed on the fndhope website. That one has almost 700 members, which means that there's always someone around to help encourage you when the going gets tough.

I have had various strange things happen like hair loss from anti epilepsy drugs, bleeding from skin pores that wont heal, palpitations, bp going up and down and some meds making my asthma pretty bad they had to be stopped.

My biggest find to date is distraction, doing anything as opposed to nothing even when I look and feel my worst tends to help a lot, along with NLP, acupuncture and acupressure - I would recommend sourcing acupressure for people's own symptoms - relaxation therapy taught to me in the NHNN is wonderful, I just have to remember what they said !!!!!
