Maybe service dog?

I have had FND for almost 5 years and even though it got a bit better it still causes struggles like twitches, memory issues, and other problems. One thing I have noticed is that having a dog by my side calms my twitches. I do not know if I would qualify for one, not to mention the risk of more discrimination on top of the amount I receive for needing knee braces and being hypoglycemic. I just do not know how to go about making an inquiry. I am going to set up an appointment with a MAMHC. I was in and out of hospitals for a while(from what little I remember, have seen a specialist, and I have also been to counseling for it. Little has worked other than having a dog by my side. How would I go about this? Would I even qualify?
