Protect Funding for Cancer Research

As of February 2025, the Administration plans to implement significant budget cuts—exceeding $4 billion annually—to research institutions, including those dedicated to prostate cancer studies. These cuts will have devastating consequences, both immediate and long-term, discouraging young scientists from entering the field and jeopardizing critical advancements in cancer treatment. Further reductions, such as potential cuts to Department of Defense (DOD) cancer research funding—which has been instrumental in breast and prostate cancer breakthroughs—are also likely. We urge you to take action by contacting Congress to oppose these proposed cuts. The member list of the US Congress is: congress.gov/members

What to Say in Your Message:

. Make it Personal: Share your experience with prostate cancer and how research-driven treatments have impacted your life.

. Express Gratitude: Thank your representative for their leadership and support of medical research. Encourage them to continue championing this vital cause.

. A Nonpartisan Issue Prostate cancer knows no political ideologies or geographic boundaries—it affects us all. Together, we can ensure that critical progress in cancer treatment continues. Please write to Congress today.

The author has worked in academia and industry so she has a good understanding of this subject. However she is anti-wellness so some arguments may be counterproductive depending on the audience.
