ADT before SBRT

Hello Warriors:

Has anyone had ADT to shrink the prostate before SBRT? If so, please post your thoughts and studies/data you might know.

Yes, my RO recommended it when I had it done almost 10 years ago. He said it would make it easier to treat and that ADT had a synergistic relationship with IMRT or in your case SBRT.

I did SBRT before ADT. Why wait 6-12 months to do SBRT? Seems like outcomes might be worse that way.

It's important to have a recent MRI before SBRT, so that the tumor's location can be precisely determined.

If you want to shrink the prostate before SBRT, take Dutasteride for 6 months (separately or in addition to ADT) . Studies with MRI scans have shown that the tumor shrinks 30% in size during that time due to Dutasteride monotherapy.

You might try blueskydrugs.com in Canada. I've used them for years to get Cialis.

I have one lesion 3+4 (10% pattern 4), So, ADT is only needed for shrinking the prostate before radiation. Sorry, should have clarified in the post.

Seems like a lot of ROs would not even use ADT with that.

Thanks for posting... For me, I chose to do SBRT towards the initiation of lupron, to insure higher T, so the SBRT would be given at that point... here is my post...
