So...before my brain melts for good, I understand that low dosage is ok to affect cells proliferation?

Low dosage metformin: in vitro study
My husband was recently prescribed Metformin because his blood sugar was so high but the MO said to wait to take it because he was starting Pluvicto. I wish he could start it because I have also read articles stating it can help with prostate cancer. I’m going to share this article with his MO. (I think they were worried about his liver or kidneys being affected.)
There are many other studies, but in vivo/vitro or retrospective...so take them as possibilities but not proven truths.
Metformin can reduce the glomerular filtration rate of your kidneys and that is a last thing you want when you are doing a PSMA pet CT scans and the pluvicto infusion.
After pluvicto infusion when the radioactive material is out of your system you will be able to use Metformin safely.
Therefore we need a working kidneys in order to remove a radioactive materials as soon as possible in order to avoid kidney damage from pluvicto. Hopefully it is understandable now.
Very helpful.. thank you. Right now my husband is in the hospital with three blood clots in his brain. They are giving him Heparin and he will take blood thinner pills when he comes home. 😞
In which country do you live? My sister also had blood clots after her ovarian cancer surgery and her dosing was very scientific with measuring lab testing and adjusting the blood thinner dose. I have to ask her but maybe she is now off from blood thinners. It sounds very scarry to have a blood clot in your brain. I hope you are in good hands.
Noooo. It’s scary to have blood clots in your brain!!!
