Brian Metcalf died from prostate cancer last night. Brian and I were friends for around ten years. He was the loveliest of men. He was caring to men with prostate cancer, becoming a support group leader in his local community and online and a most effective advocate for all of us. He loved talking about cricket and history. From any other man, I would have found those conversations boring, but with Bryan, the world...even cricket...was a delight. Brian helped introduce Malecare into the United Kingdom and encouraged many men in Britain to connect with those of us in the USA, in trying to find solutions to our mutual fight against prostate cancer. Brian was a kind and helpful fellow who loved his family and friends. I will miss him deeply and remember him always.

My condolences to Brian's family and friends at this sad time. My OH is on active surveillance and has taken great comfort from people like Brian who have given so much to help support and advise fellow patients. :(

So sorry to read this. My heart goes out to his loved ones. When my hubby was diagnosed, he was told "No one dies from prostate cancer, they die with it". We have since learnt the facts!

Sorry for the loss. He has left this world a better place for being in it. What more could you hope for?
