Hi my names April and my husband as been told he as prostrate cancer, he as to go next week for a bone scan to see if its spread into his bones, he is very worried about this as he as been having a lot of pain in his hip for some months. Ive notices that hes sorting things out just in case. I will keep you posted xx

Hi April. If the worst comes to the worst and the bone scan shows metastasise, then it can usually be controlled very successfully by hormone treatment. Since I was diagnosed nearly ten years ago, there have been massive improvements in treatments for advanced prostate cancer.

There is a very successful trial which is still recruiting called STAMPEDE. I don't know where you live, but it is pretty much nation wide and it might be worth making enquiries to see if your Husband could go on it.

Thanks HughVG, been today for his body scan he seems a bit better in himself just have to wait till Thursday, will let you know, thanks for the info much appreciated. xx
