how has the diagnose affected your career?

Actually, at this point in time, I really don't know.

Perhaps, it's caused real problems for it. I'm on a fixed term contract which expires in a few months, so a lot will depend upon how straight forward my post op recovery is, and whether any follow up treatment such as radiotherapy is required.

If either of those options come to pass, then I'm not very likely to return to the workplace at all.
