Has anyone experienced a reduction in their platelet count as a result of taking atorvastatin (Lipitor ). Are there any research articles on it? Or anecdotal evidence?

The only thing I know about this drug is it's not advised after 70. My husband was on it and it was only when I queried this point that he was taken off it.

I have not had any reduction just stable numbers. I was put on it to help reduce the chance of strokes. Explained to me simply by my doctor.... to make my platelets less sticky. I had at that point, 3 mini strokes in 7 months. I started plavix and Lipitor.

I hope you find what works.
