Hello Sunnydays2013,

Thank You for the question.

I wish I could be of help but I am sure other members will be able to discuss Sativex with you.

Can I also kindly remind members that we should not discuss illegal forms of this drug on the forum, Many Thanks

Look forward to reading further comments

Hi everyone.

Sativex is not illegal as such, but it is not approved by the NHS for general use, so your GP would not issue you a prescription.

It is being trialed by consultants to see if it has a beneficial effect on MS sufferers, and I believe the results have been favourable so far. Side effects must be carefully monitored, as these are so far unknown.

No doubt in time it will become available on the NHS if it proves beneficial for chronic pain syndromes, but until then we'll have to wait!

Sativex has none of the usual 'pleasurable' effects attributed to cannabis, and would not at the moment be considered a safe alternative to the present available medicines.

I would caution everyone not to buy it from the internet, as it is exceedingly expensive, and the product supplied may not be of pharmaceutical quality.

My GP was very informative, as yet it is only recommended for MS sufferers, so it would have to be prescribed privately and not by my own GP and he strongly advised me not to do this as a proportion of people who take sativex ....who like myself cannot tolerate any opiate medicines or alcohol they did report a feeling of getting high... giggly , drunk , not in control.

I did my own research and found confirmation of what my GP told me. I was not prepared to take the risk or pay out the money for something online. Which would cost in the region of £200 for the prescription , registration to

An online pharmacy and one small bottle of sativex.

May I add that Sativex is not a recommended treatment for Fibro, it's dangerous and illegal to buy prescription only medications online without a prescription.

Please understand we mention this purely for you own safety

Many Thanks
