My first two years was when my mobility just got worse you have to learn to accept that you have to do things in stages. It takes a while for you to get this into our heads well it did me good luck

Hello there, I am sorry to hear you are having a tough time. It would be a good idea to have a chat with your GP to see if your meds needed reviewing. We can become acclimatised to the meds we take as our Fibro evolves and changes. You might not be getting sufficient pain relief or help with your fatigue and other symptoms.

Please see your GP to see if they can help you and give you some relief. Please let us know how you get on. Here's a hug for you (((hug))) xx

I've had fibro for a few years and also developed hip pain. Unfortunately, too many doctors stop investigating other possible conditions whenever fibro or ME are diagnosed. After much persistence, I finally saw a specialist and was diagnosed with bursitis in both hips, had cortisone injections on both sides and the pain relief was AMAZING! However, have to add that although it worked for me it may not be the case for other people. The main point I was trying to make was that if you develop new pains, you should still have it investigated.

hI, have you ever considered that your hip pain may be osteo arthritis? I have had fibro for at least 14 years with bad lower back pain that extended into my hips and groin. Last year I had to have a total hip replacement (aged 48) which has made a huge difference although I still do have muscular aches and pains in my lower back and bum. Some of the muscular pain I had/have is in my hips and thigh areas. This is because I have shortening of the tendons and ligaments in my legs (Tendonopathy) which makes me easily fatiqued if I walk round town or something. The way to know if its your hip joint causing the pain is to see how far you can extend your leg out to the side when sitting on the bed or on the floor. Is it painful, does it lock? Also when walking does it ever lock or do you feel you are dragging your leg behind you? I was on amitriptyline for ages and during the time I needed my hip replacing. Needing a new hip wakes you up in the night regardless of being on amitriptyline. Hope this helps. x

my hip pain is the bane of my existence - that is when the costochondritis pain isn't overwhelming every other pain. Which is what usually happens. The hip pain I experience is a bone deep squirmy kind of pain. The kind that makes you want to move? I always liken it to nerve pain. lyrica sure seems to help with that pain when it's really bothering me.

I hope I don't have to have hip surgeries in the future! so not looking forward to getting older where symptoms only tend to get worse.

I get a lot of pain in my hips too and it really has affected my mobility. By chance when I went out for a dinner last Christmas, I wore control shorts for my tummy. I found after a while that pain subsided a bit and was able to carry on a bit longer. I now have loads of pairs and wear them quite often, especially if I am going to be out for longer or get up and hips are already in pain. They seem to keep everything tight and in its place.

May not work for everyone x
