When you send in your ESA form, what happens? Could someone help me understand the basics? I would be very grateful..

Basically you wait. They may assess you on the form but that is highly unlikely. Most people will be sent for a medical assessment. Then a decision is made on that whether you get it at all and which group you will be put in. I personally called ATOS after about 3 months to get an appointment. Hope this helps x

HI, i was sent a rep from ATOS to my home and they asked questions and tried to get me to perform simple tasks, i was luckily on a bad day when she came but many ppl make sure they act as though they are on a bad day to make sure they 'pass'. although it seems awful it is the only way they see how you can be. |I personally am not much dif on a good day anyhow but i suggest you let them see your worst symptons hun. They put me in the ESA support group but i am now still fighting DLA!

Wish you all the best x

At the min, I get DLA, high rate care and mobility. Will I lose this, depending on how the ESA falls? I have been so anxious about this - I have epilepsy as well as FMS - and my seizures have been off the scale recently! Also, what does each group actually mean? I know, I am completely stupid with this sort of stuff, why they cannot just let things be is beyond me! I'm just so worried...
