Hi webby, i take it.
It works for me but i have to keep increasing it as i think my body gets used to it. I am now on 100mg.
I am one of the lucky ones that i dont get the hangover feeling in the morning. You need to take it 12 hours before you need to get up also.
I hope it works for you.
hugs, kel xxxx
Webby,
I'm on Amytriptailne 30mg at night. It helps with low level pain and also with sleep. I have found though that after a while I'm now needing other meds too.
Amytriptaline seems to siut some people but not others. Hope it works well for you.

Hi Webby,
Im on 100mg of Amtriptyline, was on 150mg a year ago. I take them for migrains. The most you can take is 200mg. Im doing great on them. And i dont get the hung over feeling in the morn. Good luck with them. Hug & love to you. Helen xxx
HI Webby, I was on it but it left me with awful 'hang-over' most of following day. I now take Nortriptiline instead and it suits me much better.
Take care of you xx
hi i was on 3 x 10 mg a night but did not touch me now just take 1 x10mg a night still does not do anything so gp trying to get me something else to take so good luck with it we are all so different whatsiuts one makes another ill it really is trial and error so youatre best to try them if that is what your gp has said and see how you go love diddle xxx
Hiya xoxo
I take 35mg, up from 10mg a year ago...It allows me to sleep pain free for about 6 hours, but still waking up having trouble sitting up to get out of bed...Waiting on results from nuclear medicine xrays. This is the final test, so if nothing is found out of place, the next stage for me is pain management...(My GP told me that when prescribing amitriptylene for depression, the usual dosage is 150mg per day, so I'm at the low dosage stage) I'm hoping that it works well for you! I only felt "hungover" for the first couple of days, then it was okay. Sending love, blessings, angels, and gentle hugs to you xoxo
Thankyou all for your advice feel so desperate that I will try anything just to get a normal life. Lol don't think that will happen. Thank god for my husband who is so patient and caring. He has left me in cafe with a lovely coffee while ho deos all the shopping he is wonderfull thankyou and bless u all x x
i take amitripoline for fibro and it make me drowsy,i don,t know if it sopposed to make you feel better well it does not work for me. i get absolutly nothing from taking it and have made an appoinment with the doctor to ask if there is any thing else i can take.not haveing good morning today have constant pain pulled a muscle in my shoulder blade and it is giving me alot of jip.
I was wondering when you took it as its best for night as yes it makes me drowsy too, but helps with my restless legs.
I am on Lyrica 24 hrs, one in the morning and one in the evening - about 7am, 7pm. Put together with my tegretol for epilespsy, if I time it right, I sleep well. Leave it too long, forget it.
Soft hugs
I have taken this, started on 10 and increased it to 40mg and took this for about four and half weeks and found it did not help with the pain or sleeping. It was like taking nothing it had no effect at all.
Hi
i too take it, 50mg every night. I know it puts me to sleep of sorts as a drug induced sleep is never fully asleep. But beter with it than without it. Take cake x
Hi Webby, I take Amitriptyline too! I take 75mg at 2pm every day so it makes me sleepy around midnight which is my normal bedtime. If I don't take it at 2pm and take it at say 6pm then I am wiped out the next day. By taking it at 2pm religiously each day I am tired enough to fall asleep at midnight and then wake at around 8.30am each morning which is good. I function well doing it this way. I have taken so many different tablets for my Fibro over the years and these by far work the best. The only down side is the weight I have put on with these tablets.
