Hello all..iv got few health issues back and hip pain ,bladder dysfunction and was sent to neuro because of pins and needles in my hand and face left side,he was very good and did an mri with contrast,I had a follow up appointment but it's been postponed untill september.
I have weakness in my arms and it's a wierd feeling but pain everywhere..my feet hurt at night and I sleep with a weighted blanket..I rang my doc yesterday for a sick note and asked her if I could have fibromyalgia and she dismissed it as old age or a side effect of omeprazole, any advice on how I can get a diagnosis,I feel useless and sep is a long way off..thank you x

Hi there, I think if this doctor is dismissive and saying it’s age related I would differently seek another doctor, I did have a doc who didn’t really listen but lucky I got put onto another one at my surgery , spot on with everything including diagnosing my fibro/cfs so keep plugging as you say September a way off as yet. Remember doctors have a duty of care for their patients even if they are not completely sure either way some do refer to a rheumatologist. Xx
Thanks..I wouldnt mind I only got neurology after I put a letter in complaining, the sudden hearing loss, continence issues ,and a spine fracture were picked up so they know I'm not a drama queen..I work full time but had to reduce hours.i feel drained and even a pen feels like it weighs a ton
Hi Audrey sorry you’re having a bad time. I would hope if anything bad had shown on your MRI that you wouldn’t have had your appointment postponed. I get the pins and needles in my face and the neurologist didn’t even see me just sent a message via my gp that it was fibromyalgia. God knows how you can diagnose without examining a patient!
