I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia last Thursday and I don't know if I can claim DLA or pip as I'm a carer for my youngest who has asd

Hi, this is something I often wonder as I too am a. Carer to my eldest. Some extra money would make my life so much easier. But I am not I could cope with form filling in and the dreaded Atos interview/interrogation as I am veryfragile most days. Hope you get some advice. Best wishes

Thank you I had suffered with it for 4 years but thought it was due to me getting older

yes you can, but they will say no at first, appeal it and you may get higher rate..

Just apply for carers allowance no interview with atos look online

Hi, I'm new to site to and not answered before but i hope this helps.I receive dla but i also receive carers allowance as i am my husbands carer. You are allowed to apply in your own right for dla. as a fellow fibro sufferer i would suggest you apply and see what happens.

Hey thank you for that I didn't think I'd get a response as I'm new to this as well my name is Ros I rang the DLA and they gave me the pip number which I rang

I rang the p.I.p people and they are sending a huge form out to me

Good luck with it all. I too am a carer, formy eldest, now 18. I was diagnosed by the rheumatologist yesterday, although the gp had said the same thing. I will wait until last lot of bloods come back (clear hopefully) and the gp recieves the letter from the hospital but I may try for DLA too. At least if I do it now, then I'll know the likelihood of getting it when my son doesn't need me any more.
