Hi lovely take painkillers about a hour before I had a polyp removed and didn’t find it that painful x

They put me under general anaesthetic for mine, I had no pain at all afterwards x

For me it was like a bad period cramp, not the greatest but defiantly bearable.

At the time it was manageable but I did have awful period cramps about 20 minutes later that lasted about half an hour. They were intense

Hi, mine was actually very painful but perhaps it was because I have a narrow cervix. I also had an endometrial biopsy at the same time so I don’t know if this made it even worse. I took strong painkillers, but I suffered quite a bit! In hindsight, I wish I would have had it to be done under sedation.

I had 3. 2 under sedation or general anaesthetic and I didn't feel anything. I also had one under local anaesthetic without painkillers to have a polyp removed and it was painful but did last long.

Have they told you if you will be under local or general anaesthetic?

I had general and took painkillers and rested the next few days. It’s important to take it easy.

You’ll be fine! Xx

No, i was told to come this January when my period stop for booking. So, I believe it's this January they will tell me all I need to know. I am actually preparing for an Ivf that was why they sent me to do hysteroscopy. Thanks for your reply 👍

I had an awful experience, found it very painful. If given the choice I go for sedation.

it wasn’t painful for me at all. It was the HSG test that hurt like crazy!!

I found it fine. Was in and out of appointment without sedation and back in work. Endometrial biopsy I had at a different time was worse for me than the hysteroscopy. I think everyone’s experience so variable and depends what you’re having done.

morning!

I have had two so far, the first was very painful, it included an extensive biopsy but I found the water being pumped into my uterus very painful too. The second one was much shorter and was bearable.

On Tuesday I have a myosure to remove some polyps which were seen in my recent hysteroscopy (there were too many to remove at the time).

They are all NHS appointments so no sedation or anaesthetic. If we had the funds i would have done them privately with sedation. I think you can request sedation/anaesthetic for your NHS appointment, but the wait would be longer.

Wishing you all the best!

I had mild to moderate period pain, very bareable on just paracetamol. It was a hysteroperpingogram, so just minus the camera but pumping dye through the uterus, fallopian tubes, instead. They found one tube was blocked, so i imagine the pain should have been a bit greater in my case as they would have been trying to pump dye through a blocked tube. The thought was way more scary than the experience.

Best wishes.
