IVF stimms first scan, your experiences!?

Hey everyone,

Hope your all well.

I had my first tracking scan today, i am on day 6 but inject in the evening so have only have done 5 injections.

I have low AMH and have 9 follicles from my scan today.

However only 1 is over 10mm and the rest are between 5mm and 9.7.

My consultant will most likely put my dosage up and will advise to not start my other meds today to continue stimulating follicles.

I just wondered what your experiences were with first day scan if you have low AMH? If smaller follicles made it to the correct size over time? Or if they stopped growing?

I’m a bit apprehensive that I’ll only get 3-5 follicles at best if the others don’t grow.

I think its very early to be writing yourself off! Great news you have 9 follicles. They can grown between 2mm-3mm a day so you have plenty of time for them to grow and get ready for collection - heaps of luck xx

Hi Mlove.

Unfortunately it is one of those wait and see situations. I have low AMH and have had similar results on Day 5. I have had it go both ways in that I have seen significant growth between day 5 and day 10 where I went from a lead follicle of 11mm to a lead follicle of >22mm. I have had it also not go so well where I have had limited growth. Each scan you will learn more information and day 5 is very early in the process to know much at all I'm afraid. They have increased your meds so this will hopefully increase your response. Do your clinic take bloods? If so your estrogen levels will also tell a story, they should be rising xx good luck

Hi Skittles,Thanks for replying and sharing your experiences!

My consultant has decided not to up my meds and keep me as they are for now, hoping that’s a positive thing.

My clinic havent suggested taking bloods for the time being but there’s no reason why they couldn’t I guess.
