Sensitive * 44 and happy today

So, it’s early days , but after five rounds of ivf with my own eggs I finally got a positive today. Not bad for a 44 year old! Obviously there is still a long way to go. But just wanted to give others my age some good news. Fingers crossed.

Do you take dhea? I am sure it has helped me. The longer I have taken it, the better my results have been each time. It has definitely improved quality of my eggs.

Thanks you. Unfortunately because I have PCO, dhea isn't reccomended. I tried it once and had the least number of eggs from all my cycles (13). I did he pregnant that cycle with my only blast but it ended in mmc x

No I haven’t had any of mine tested. Each time my clinic has put in the best three and we’ve crossed our fingers.

To be honest, over the five rounds so far we have done everything. From growth hormones to the immunoglobulin drips. But the strange thing about my case is each time the cycle has gone a little bit better, and I think that was down to taking dhea. I kept having tests and my clinic said my levels were fine, but I took it anyway - in between cycles.

It might just also be a game of numbers. I have had 14 embryos and blasts transferred in 13 months. Take care

i think dhea helped me have a baby at 43 years old, and also a friend, also 43 years old - it is kind of a wonder drug!

i can't remember the brand alas, and it was IVF. It was a natural conception for my friend (who was actually just about to start an IVF cycle!)

I used Eurovital. One 25mg tablet three times a day. I have had ivf... and a lot of it. This is my 5th round.

Sounds like a winning combo. Fantastic! I’ve got pcos so I think I’m unable to take DHEA unfortunately. I must double check. I’ve just had loads of testing done with Dr Shehata so maybe he’ll suggest it. I’m 41, I’ve had 8 cycles and one beautiful boy. I miscarried one and I feel like I need to get myself tested as I always get to blasto stage. I think it’s me, rather than my embryos.

Great news!!! You give us all hope so thank you for posting this. Can I ask what brand of DHEA you used and what type of cycle you did - ie natural modified, short or long protocol etc?

I used Eurovital. One 25mg tablet three times a day.

I was on what argc call a flash protocol. I think it means get as many drugs in as possible over two weeks! Blood tests everyday in that time and constant tweaking of Fostimon to begin with, and then a few days of meriofert. I also took growth hormones, aspirin, clexane, dextramethasone and had an immunoglobulin drip as my nk result came back high. And of course multi vitamins and ubiquinol.

They also recommended 4 litres of water and 1 litre of milk a day.
