7 weeks 1 day scan slow heartbeat

Hi everyone

I had my 2nd scan today and now I'm worried because the baby's heartbeat is slow

it has grown from my last scan at 6 weeks 1 day and it had a heartbeat then too

now I don't know the heart rate or anything but my next scan is in 8 days

any positive stories? I don't know what to think now.

hi the nurse did. my clinic doesn't measure the heart rate they just look at the flicker.she also said it's measuring behind at 4.3mm when it should be around 10mm

I called back to ask about the measurements..

Hey! I’m so excited to hear there was a heart beat! Praying for your continued health as well as the sweet baby’s! I’m going this am for my follow up ultrasound and praying to hear a heart beat, trying to manage expectations because low pregnancy symptoms 😝

Your clinic is strange. When I had my scan they told me the heartbeat was 113bpm, and online it says 90-110 is normal. I'd question why they're unable to tell you the exact heart rate? Also, if the baby has grown, did they not suggest that maybe it implanted late?? Or suggest reasons for the slow growth? That could suggest why the embryo is measuring quite small still. The communication seems a little poor, you shouldn't be left feeling like this after a scan 🙄

You're right yeah they didn't measure the heart rate or do anything like blood tests.

I called back to ask but they said at this stage they just look at it the heartbeat.

I also have a tilted uterus I did Google and apparently it makes it more difficult to see and measure.

This pregnancy is from a 5 day frozen embryo transfer

Which was transferred on the 20th of November it's been 31 days.

I just think they didn't want to give me any false hope but I'm going to stay positive ❤️

Sometimes embryos do implant late. I think the fact you have a heartbeat plus the fact it is still growing is really positive. If anything was majorly wrong, baby wouldn't grow. Also, old wives tale, but fast heartbeat is supposed to be a girl and slower is supposed to be a boy. So you never know. Keep positive, wishing you a good Xmas (if it's still even happening?!) and try not to worry. Easier said than done I know x

I am so sorry to read your anxiety. Baby started with a heart beat which is a good sign, it could pick up all dependant on the reading of the heart rate at the time. Ideally you want above 110 bpm at over 6 weeks. I had a MMC in 2018 before going on to have my little boy in 2019, when there was never a heart beat even at first scan.., i'd say keep an open mind your little one may be a fighter and gain momentum. Hi thank you so much for replying.

They didn't measure the BPM so that's giving me the most anxiety. The nurse just looked at the flicker and said she would have liked it if it were faster. They don't offer blood tests either.

Aw thank you.., i send my warmest wishes your way., i hope everything goes well at the next scan keep us posted. I spent a full year doing IUI's initially, longing for a baby too i understand the torment! I moved to IVF then. Whatever happens just remember you will have a baby., you can implant so that's a positive in itself so you know that side is not a problem and as with anything the luck that the embryo is euploid. Should... praying you won't need to use them, have any embryos frozen? Take care and best wishes. x

Thank you so much. I love the IVF community it's good to know I'm not totally on my own I will keep everyone updated just incase someone googles for answers in the future.

We have 1 frozen embryo left. But we won't give up ❤️❤️❤️
