I had a monitoring scan today for our last round of Clomid, it’s day 11. I have one large-ish follicle on either side, one 13 and one 17mm. Previously at scans they’ve just told me when to take Ovitrelle but this time they’ve told me to do ovulation tests and take the Ovitrelle on the day I see a surge. And if no surge by Monday to take the Ovitrelle.
Does this sound similar to other people’s experiences? I don’t always find the ovulation test results very easy to read and don’t want to miss anything... On the other hand hopefully waiting for the natural surge will mean more chance for the follicles to develop as much as possible?
Any advice appreciated! X

I’m in the same position. I’ve been told to call the clinic when I have my LH surge and they’ll tell me what time to take the Ovitrelle. She said if I hadn’t had the surge by Monday then to go in for a scan and they’ll get me to take the trigger on Monday, the surge will happen Tuesday and they’ll transfer the following Monday. It’s all a little confusing isn’t it. I’d call the clinic to check timings etc as you wouldn’t want to do it at the wrong time and forfeit the cycle completely. I’d also suggest the clear blue ovulation kit as they’re digital and there’s no uncertainty with them. Wishing you lots of luck xx
Wow, you really are in exactly the same position down to the day! I think I’ve got my head round the instructions the clinic gave me but will definitely get in touch with them if I’m in any doubt. Don’t want to risk anything as this is our last Clomid cycle before we start ivf... I do have a Clearblue monitor but haven’t been using it as in previous months the clinic have just told me when to take the trigger shot and that obviously affects the tests.
Exciting that you don’t have long to wait until transfer now!
I’m also struggling with secondary infertility and as here if you need to offload any time!
Wishing you all the best, keep me posted about your surges 😂 x
