Hi there,So I'm doing IVF as a single person using my own eggs and donor sperm. I had 3 embryos from my first round and the best one (a 5AB) was implanted on 13th May. Just did a test and it's negative so I am super disappointed. Everything went so smoothly and I have no fertility issues so I can't understand what happened, given it was a high quality embryo. Any advice or experiences would be welcome. I have two lower grade frosties to use but am so anxious it's just going to fail again. I just want to be a mum x
IVF round 1: Hi there,So I'm doing IVF... - Fertility, Miscar...
IVF round 1
Hi,
Fellow solo mum here, sorry that your first transfer didn’t work. My first transfer was a 5AA and resulted in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. My next transfer (slightly lower grade) led to my daughter and my last transfer (grade C) was last week and I’ve just tested positive. Don’t give up just yet! Unfortunately grading is a bit of a beauty contest, and doesn’t say much about whether an embryo will actually be viable. Your clinic should offer you a debrief, and talk about anything that might need to change next cycle. I’d definitely recommend testing progesterone sing transfer time. Good luck x
Thank you for your reply, and congrats on your success 🙂 yes I figured the grading can only go so far as no genetic testing so I had prepared myself, just disappointing. But your story gives me hope!
My clinic have been great and have asked me to test again tomorrow and if it's still negative then I'm to stop the cyclogest and they'll arrange a debrief with me and then I decide when to try again!
Lovely to hear from you and good luck with things!xx
