I had an appointment today to go through my test results and he said for my age at 38, my AMH is slightly below average at 6.2 and will be putting me on a long protocol, does anyone else have any experience with these sorts of numbers?

Hi, just wanted to let you know my experience, I had AMH of 4 age 39 and I was put on short protocol. I was told that because of my low AMH that my ovaries might be sluggish when firing them back up again with the stims. This worked for me as I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant from my first round. Got 7 eggs and 4 made blastocyst, so not quantity but quality in my case x

Hi KayCan thank you for your reply, its suprising the differences in people and the reasons the Dr's give for choosing different options, he said to me he would put me on long so they can get control of my cycle as I have had a couple of irregular periods, so I guess I will just wait and see how it goes

Hello,

My AMH is below average for my age at 11 (i was 28 or 29 I think when it was tested). I was on long protocol and got 15 eggs with 6 blastos. We're still on the rollercoaster for a sticky BFP but v fortunate and grateful to have got some good blastos. Lots of luck to you and big hugs x x

Hi Bernie

Don’t worry to much about AMH ! Is just a number , everything depends how you respond to treatment. My AMH was in September 9.7 at 41 years old .. and I end up with 3 eggs .

One was top quality, got pregnant in end of November and miscarriage in January. Missed miscarriage...

So I read stories with women with low AMH got more eggs collected and had successful pregnancy.

Good luck!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Hope9931 thank you for your reply, it seems you are right, people respond differently so I will wait and see what my fate is.

So sorry to hear this, it just shows that its not all about the BFP as there is still so much that can happen after this, a missed miscarriage sounds really quite traumatising and can't imagine how that feels, I'm so sorry.

Wishing you lots of luck for your next try x x
