Going gluten free could help

Hi everyone

I just had to share this... I've had 4 failed ivfs, 2 natural pregnancies after both resulting in 6-7 week miscarriages.

I went to a digestive specialist for my lactose intolerance, she suggested going gluten free as it's a factor in miscarriages.

Bit like breast cancer where hereditary in some cases. Didn't Always show symptoms but they are there and antibodies attack the fetus

Since getting rid of gluten as a last chance nothing to lose, I'm now 12+3 pregnant.

It could be a coincidence, but I had to share. I've spoken to others who have had similar experiences.

It's worth a try. We tried everything. Hoping and praying every day that this is our rainbow. I'm 40 now so... Last try.

Baby dust and love to all xc

Hidden hiii and welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I haven't heard about gluten free diet having an impact on fertility. It is the first time for me to read about it. I guess that everything that improves your health and wellbeing will have a positive effect on your fertility. Glad to know it worked for you.

Wish you a happy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I'm sure everything will be alright.

I'm turning 48 soon and I keep believe miracles happen. Your experience proves it.

Good luck and blessings!

Hii. Huge Congrats! I went private recently and we discussed gluten intolerance as I was gluten free for years but then reintroduced it back into my diet a few years ago (and have felt rotten!!) She is specialised in autoimmune conditions such as gluten intolerance and how it causes the body to pretty much stay in a state of inflammation causing natural killer cells to increase. A high level of natural killer cells will view an embryo like a foreign body and therefore be on the attack constantly causing infertility. I am getting mild steriod treatment to reduce inflammation and on a strict GF diet. So heres hoping!! 4 weeks in I already have lost a lot of my symptoms and exhaustion. My periods are so much better now too. If you type in autoimmune conditions/natural killer cells and infertility into google there is a wealth of research done. Seems to be getting overlooked by consultants!! However in a America it is common practice to test for these autoimmune conditions in infertility.

How long where you GF for before you got pregnant? Hopefully this is help other women to maybe think about trying GF too. Symptoms of gluten intolerance can be very similiar to PCOS xxx

Hey, sorry for the late reply, I only pop in once a week now.

I was lactose free from January and gluten free from June. LMP July 15.

I'm 17+3 now and hoping and praying all continues well.

I really believe it's worth going gf. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I only want one rainbow baby. Couldn't do the pregnancy stress again after previous miscarriages.

Wishing you all the luck in the world xx
