Thanks, my hepatologist prescribed at least 3 cups of coffee a day for me to help treat my NASH. An important point he made was that it needed to be brewed through a paper filter. There are two chemicals in coffee that are harmful but are filtered out by the paper. I've gone from a stage 4 to a high stage 2 for whatever that is worth. Not medical advice, just my story.

It is so interesting, how can i filter my espresso coffee? Please

You would have to run it through a filter after brewing which sucks. I have a lot less espresso than I used to but still have one occasionally

Hi nash2 would you be able to recommend a coffee filter as i have only ever used a plunger style? I noticed some of the modern coffee makers have replaced the paper filters with a cone style filter.

There are a lot of coffee makers that use filters, they are all similar in function so more of what works in your kitchen than anything else

The k-cups is this kind ok?

I can't say for sure but i personally don't use k-cups only because of the interaction btwn the heat and the k-cups. Maybe i'm just a lil paranoid but I've been sold on the whole BPA idea.😉

Not to say i never use k-cups, because i have. However, about 90% of my coffee goes thru paper filters.

K-cups do have a filter though some avoid the plastic so good but not perfect

Re K-Cups and paper filters, i researched this awhile back, and will try to find the references to share. If I’m recalling correctly, My research found that K-cups for Keurig have paper filters inside. It seems paper filters “filter out” the “bad cholesterol” particulates from coffee. Back shortly with some links to info to verify.

😊

This is great. I've changed for cappuccino's to filter coffee when going out for coffee with friends. It's also cheaper in the coffee shop than a cappuccino too. Nice to know it is doing some good for us all.

Do we know if decaf coffee is just as good for the liver, and can you drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach? I have only been drinking hot water with lemon and then ice water in the morning.

I drink it every morning on empty stomach with no problem
