Hi Subtle_badger isn't a Fasting bar a contradiction in terms?

Its bang on trend being Gluten free GM free and plant based but fasting...at least it contains nuts.

What might make sense is would be an OMAD bar - but it would have to be a balanced diet, including limiting amino acids - which, normally, come from animal sources.

I think it's based on the Fasting Mimicking Diet, which is rather well regarded by some people. Valter Longi did a study of how much people could eat and still have benefits of fasting like reduced mTOR and insulin, and a similar evidence of autophagy.

That's a whole different very expensive thing, around £200 for 5 days worth of cuppasoup and handfuls of olives. The protocol is 5 days/month for 3 months, so that's £600 pounds.

As someone pointed out, it might not be as technical as it seems. It's a VLCD, and that is known to lead to autophagy etc.
