I love cup of tea in the morning when I wake up. Does this break the fast?

Can't imagine not having milk in my tea.

There are a variety of answers from yes to no, depending really on the purposes of your fast.

Could you say a little more?

If ketosis/autophagy is part of your aim, it would be best to have a very small amount of full-fat milk or even a smidge of cream, rather than green or red top milk.

And hello and welcome :) we are cheering you on!

Thank you for replying..and the welcome 🤗.I've spent a couple of hours watching the videos that have been posted. 2 reasons for exploring fasting. I want to combat menopause without medication. I completed C25K and have stopped drinking. But then sugar took over! I want to loose weight and should be losing weight but am not. Due to sugar intake. So IF trial.

I second what Stoozie said! And wtg PP! Enjoy your fasting! Do whatever works for you! 🙆‍♀️

Thanks Sammy. Am giving it a slow and steady go. Just like my running.

There is absolutely no harm in black tea or coffee - though apparently some fruit teas can have carbs, so check the labels if you go herbal. Add a little milk if you must, but avoid any sweeteners.

Hi, Portlandprincess , welcome.

I think your question has been answered... cream is better than milk, as it contains no sugar (lactose).

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). Have you Seen:

Have you tried Green tea? I used to think it tastes like compost (not that I'm speaking from experience there 😬) but I've recently come to quite like it. I have the Pukka brand which I find tastes the best and their green tea with mint is nice too.

I think that as we get used to living with foods that are not as sweet, our tastes change. I would avoid the twinings green teas as they have a definite aftertaste and the lemon one reminds me of kitcken cleaner!! 😝😂
