I have the right side affected, a numb tongue, lips, cheeks and a slightly droopy face. I can close my eye but it feels very strange. Amy early advice please? Steve

My advice would be to get on antivirals & steroids ASAP. If you have a doc who would also prescribe calcium blockers do it. Then, contact Michael Reilly, MD at Med Star Health for a Telehealth to make certain you have the proper diagnosis. Or Jodi Barth at The Center For Facial Recovery (she more than likely will advise you to schedule with Dr Reilly).

I was misdiagnosed by 5 providers over 9mo. They kept calling it BP but it was actually RHS w/o a rash/blisters. Yes, Shingles can occur w/o markings. This type is called ZSH (Zoster Sine Herpete).

Now I have long term palsy (2.5 years now) plus a very annoying neurological disorder called Synkinesis.

Hopefully all you have is classic BP & it’ll be gone in 3-6mo. I would do all the above to cover all bases & make certain it’s not something else.

Best of luck & healing to you my friend. 🙏🏼
