When will I get better?

This is my 2nd episode of BP and it’s been nearly 5 months and I don’t really feel like I have improved at all. The last time I was able to see a doctor was in February because of COVID-19 and I didn’t feel the doctors were very supportive in helping me.

When I first has BP I was pretty much back to normal about 3 months later and only sealed with issues of synkenisis

With this episode I am able to now move my face by when I talk my mouth is still lop sided (the biggest issue with BP other than my eye).

I am able to use my upper lip however my lower lip still has no movement so when I smile it pretty much looks like the beginning stages of BP (please does anyone have any exercises to improve the lips as I still can’t pout or smile properly)

My eye has gotten better and I’m able to wash my face without soap getting in bf my blinking mechanism is off and I am unable to close this eye without the other eye opening)

I’ve being to feel so depressed and sad about having my face like this and I don’t feel I got the medical support and attention I need and no one really understands what it’s like to have your face completely changed (in my case I’ve technically had 3 different faces) so it’s hard for my friends and family to sympathise with me.

Please can anyone share any tips or exercises they have done to strengthen their face muscles

I really feel for you as I have been there myself.

I don’t where you live but there is a clinic which specializes in facial palsy. It’s the Lindens clinic Sale near Manchester. They helped me a lot so maybe you could give them a ring.
