Hi. Has anyone had root canal on a tooth on the affected side after BP. I'm worried about the injection. I didn't get full function back so don't want to mess around with my lips but can't have root canal without numbing my face with injection. Any thoughts please?
Thanks so much

No, my daugter had a surgery on the non-affected side and it was ok.
I don’t think that the injection will make it worse because the palsy is in the facial nerve, not in the teeth nerves, but I’m not an expert. I’m sorry to could not help you with an advice. Good luck! 🌺
Hi, had bells 4 years ago.. 90% back but still struggling with inflation around eye and mouth.. my dentist said it’s ok to numb the affected side as he doesn’t get near the facial nerves but I haven’t had to do anything on that side so far.. make sure u have a good dentist and ask lots of questions first .. hope that helped.. it’s a long road but you will get better with prayer and time.. Gods speed!
Hi Suzy, thanks for your message, yes I'm 90% better and everyone says I look ok, but I can still see the difference around my eye and mouth, and I guess I always will, but have to be grateful for recovery. I will talk to my dentist, thanks for reassurance.
Hi I had Bells 3.5yrs ago. This was 18mths after having a large oral cyst removed on that side and resulted in having teeth removed . I am still left with some synkinesis on mouth/eye. Personally I am convinced that this had some bearing on the Bells. If I have to have any dental work on that side again I would not be happy having injections. Some dentists use other therapies for pain - for instance acupuncture. I would definately discuss alternatives before having any work done.
