2nd time other side.

My Mum was diagnosed with Bell's palsy on her right side about 6 months ago. She eventually came to terms with it and after a while the drooping and lack of movement had almost returned to normal apart from her eye would not shut properly.

4 weeks ago she had a fall and broke her hip and fractured her pelvis, whilst in surgery something happened to the nerve and caused drop foot (right side also) but she has been getting on OK and recovering well.

This morning I got a phone call at work and she tells me the Bell's palsy has come back but on the other side this time.

I just want to know how common this is? To have it happen twice in a year once on each side.

She has rang her doctors who told her the doctor would ring back some time in the day (if they don't forget).

Should I be taking her to our local A&E or even call an ambulance?
