knees & hips

Hi, just got in from 6 minute walk, better than last week but still worse than it was. When I finished, I thought I’d just carry on going. Then my hip played up, limped a bit further & my knees started. This flare up is lasting weeks. My steps rarely show on the App but as long as I know I’ve met the aim I’m not too bothered if it’s recorded or not . The problem is the exercises. Almost all of them seem to involve knees or hips &, on a bad day, I just can’t do them or need to stop halfway through.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi Philfran oh dear! I'm sorry you've had a bad knee/hip day today. If your knees/hips are an issue, you might be better off doing a low-impact activity that suits you and recording that in-app rather than using the videos.

I am going to suggest to the team that a way to easily access lower impact videos would be a good idea based on your suggestion. In the meantime, you can record any lower impact activities (cycling, swimming etc) yourself as "Other Physical Activity.

Here are some videos which the EXI clinical team has checked out and thinks might be suitable. We do always recommend following the advice of your own healthcare team and listening to your body when doing any activity of this kind.

Many thanks. I’ll try them as soon as the painkillers kick in! I may also try & start aquafit again - not done it since lockdown.

I love it - aqua jogging is even lower impact if you can find a class (I call it aqua - bobbing )
