Problems using the app

I'm new to this but rapidly losing faith in using this app. I have sent a query via email and put posts on but no response. With your weekly 'prescription' I am told to do 4 x 20 minutes low intensity exercise OR 2000 steps per day. Well I've easily beaten both of these - in the last 2 days I have been swimming twice for an hour each time but can't enter this in the app because it only lets you record swimming 'live'. You have to start a stopwatch in the app when you are doing it. No good to me, I don't have a waterproof smart watch. I leave my phone in a locker and I shower before and after swimming and have a sauna so no good starting it on my phone in my locker as it would not record an accurate time.

Regarding steps, because of the nature of my job working in an airport over the last 4 days I have done 68,888 steps which is the equivalent of walking 31.5 miles! I cannot record this because EXI does not have an option I can select for indoor walking for my job. Again on the options I have looked at you have to record it live whilst you are doing it which would not work with my job as it is intermittent, stop-start walking.

I'm doing a considerable amount of exercise but I am unable to record it so according to EXI I am not hitting my goals/targets.

I think I am going to give up on this, the app is not flexible and working as I hoped.

It does seem complicated. My advice is to go through the app and choose what is relevant to you that’s what I do

I was discussing the app with my GP and its complex recording methods and how it wasn’t working for me as it was taking too much time to work it all out and create consistency. He said that if I was doing more exercise than I ever did before ( min 150 mins per week of any sort), then I wasn’t to worry. I said that trying to record the information and weight and measurements and taking BP etc was taking over from thinking about work and family issues.

If you’ve exercised then you know you have and a little pop up digital sticker in a non brilliant apps shouldn’t denigrate what you’re doing.

HI Indoorperson - EXI intended to help you reach that 150 min goal. Recording weight etc is meant to just happen once per week, not something that stops you doing anything else, that's really concerning to hear!

You can skip any of the metrics you can't reasonably access (I'm diabetic for example, and I don't enter my HbA1c each week as that doesn't make sense)

If it's all a bit much, just check your prescription at the start of the week and try to work in your activity to your week. And then on sunday check in once more to add a few metrics.

Hi Rick, I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you - I was off sick with Covid last week and my colleague was doing her best to keep on top of any queries. I will check in now and get back you via email.
