Disheartened

I am feeling quite demotivated. I am in my 10th week of the programme. I have radically changed my lifestyle, I have gone from sitting at home on my iPad grazing on the worst of snacks all day, to briskly walking a minimum of 4000 steps per day, 12000 at weekends when I drag my over enthusiastic partner along, to healthy eating, fruit and veg, pulses, minimal carbs, and yet I have only lost 4 kg. Friends say the usual ‘you are gaining muscle, it is heavier than fat’. Has anyone else had the same experience? Even on previous diets (and there have been many) I have consistently lost 1kg per week! I need to get my mojo back.

It can be a slow process.....and it's disheartening. However I was asked how long did it take you to get where you are now??? Cant expect a swift result....keep going...the results willd come

CottageattheHoo - firstly - WELL DONE! You've made so many positive changes. It's great that you're getting out walking and all of those other changes that you've made. I know whenever I've looked into it slow and steady is the best and most sustainable way to lose weight.

You might have had quicker losses previously, but 4kg over 10 weeks sounds pretty good to me. It's not "only" 4kg either - it's better quality time with your partner, perhaps even more energy? PLUS some great steps towards a sustainable, livable healthier lifestyle.

I think you're doing brilliantly!

Sounds good to me. My progress is slow but I look at it hopefully helping me keep the weight off rather than going back up again. Also I am not gaining which has to be good. Well done .
