Hi Everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself as we have so many fab new people here. I work with EXI helping users and customers with their queries (among other jobs) and I've been working here since the start of October. I love chatting with our EXI users, some of the nicest, most genuine and most determined people you'll find anywhere. Everyone has a story and everyone's story is different!
My own health story is that I want to increase my physical activity but I struggle with motivating myself consistently - so I'll do a big hike and exhaust myself and then not do anything for days (or sometimes weeks on end!)
EXI has been helping me with the "little and often" part of things, and understanding that physical activity can be just a regular part of my life. Working from home can be a very sedentary life, so finding ways to get moving more is important to me - if anyone has tried anything that's worked for them I'd love to hear it!
Health-wise I am a cancer survivor of over five years, a newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic and I've got mild asthma. I'm working hard on loving my body as it is (wibbles and wobbles and scars and all!) and taking the best care of it I can. My motto is that nobody is a "before" picture, even at the start of their journey - we need to meet and accept ourselves where we are and do the best we can for ourselves on our journey.
I'd love to see our EXI community grow to be a place where we can all support each other with empathy and acceptance and help each other through tough times with some advice from the EXI experts from our clinical team.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone a little better and being a support and help to you all! (Included a pic of me trying out kayaking a couple of years ago... I *loved* it even though I wasn't very good!)
Sarah
