Hi Pops! If you're finding the numbers overwhelming, what are some non-weight based things that might motivate you to become more physically active?

well the problem is I’ve got backache. So although I motivate myself to go to Oxford street, I came home tired and I want to eat something.

Hi Pops73 , you are not alone in feeling that large amounts of weight loss is a daunting and overwhelming goal. I am sure that there will be other members of the EXI community who will share their stories and support you on your journey. In the meantime it is worth bearing the following in mind:

Firstly, research shows there are many, many physical and mental health benefits to becoming more physically active regardless of how much weight you lose (even if you don't lose any weight at all!). Just focusing on meeting your EXI physical activity plan for now can take the pressure off of losing weight, but will very quickly make a difference to your overall health and wellbeing.

Secondly, research also shows that losing even 5% of your body weight if you are living with obesity significantly reduces your health risks. For this reason, many healthcare professionals advise using that as your initial goal rather than focusing on a more ambitious target to reach an ideal weight.

Let us know how you find working towards your EXI prescription in the coming days 😀

yes I am concentrating on more activities however my walking is not too good at the moment. As I have backache, and weak big fat thighs.

I’m going for a walk this evening.

I’ve been eating different food and trying to eat the right portion size.
